Lyn FitzsimonsChoreographer

Lyn from Adult Dance Circle has a twenty three year international career, working as a director, choreographer, producer, performer, educator and mentor. She is 1993 graduate of The Royal Ballet School, London and a Royal Academy of Dance Registered Teacher.  Her performing career spanned over 16 years and based out of Paris, Lyn performed & toured internationally with contracts in Classical Ballet, Cabaret, Film, TV, Musical Theatre, Modelling and a Ariel Ballet commission spanning 5 yrs with America’s ‘Flying By Foy’. Some highlights of her earlier dancing days were being selected to perform with Scottish Ballet, Scottish Opera and for HRH Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana.

In 2001, Lyn and her family returned to Scotland where she established herself as a director and lecturer in the creative arts. Her company ‘The Ballet Schools’ enjoyed many successes with her teachers, students & adult dancers including 100% exam pass rate in both RAD, ISTD and BATD dance societies.

In 2010 Lyn was appointed as Mentor for the Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies and she has tutored, choreographed & adjudicated in many vocational & independent  schools throughout the UK including The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, The Royal Ballet School White Lodge, Elmhurst Ballet School, Legat School and London Studio Centre.

Wishing to expand on her international teaching portfolio Lyn relocated to Australia in 2014 where she feels exceptionally privileged to be working with some of Queensland’s most gifted dancers. She has recently been elected as a member of the Australian Dance Adjudicators which allows her to travel and engage even further with some wonderful artists in the performing arts sector.

Juggling her busy teaching schedule between Brisbane and her base the Sunshine Coast, she is continually dedicated to spreading her love of dance to children and adult dancers alike.
