Why are you involved with Montessori Education?
Since parenting, then later studying post-graduate units in Secondary Education, and reading “The Absorbent Mind” I became increasingly interested in alternatives to the mainstream. I presented my resume to MIC with the hope of becoming a positive part of the creative community and environment. My purpose is to inspire and expand visual awareness and avenues for self-expression in an enjoyable way.
Years at Montessori International College
Began 1st term, 2017.
How would you describe what you do?
I provide various opportunities for individual exploration and expansion of visual communication skills as well as practical applications for such works of art. This enriches the lives of students and the wider community in its own special way. I also help out with sewing and independent learning as required.
What’s your favourite things about your role?
Witnessing the beauty, surprise and intrigue of personal creativity; the gentle happiness of a class engrossed in creative activities; the joy of knowing that I’ve helped someone progress from thinking they couldn’t draw to realising that they can! All heartwarming!
