Sarah-Jean CharltonAdolescent Guide (Humanities, Visual Art, IB Art)

    Qualifications
    Bachelor of Education

Why are you involved with Montessori Education?
After 15 plus years of teaching (mostly in the mainstream education system), I had children of my own. I wanted to explore alternatives to the mainstream system. My husband and I came to an information session at MIC and I learnt that there was a middle and senior school.  I wanted the opportunity to work amongst more like-minded people in a smaller environment.

What year did you commence at Montessori International College?
    2017

How would you describe what you do?
I aim to make the MIC curriculum accessible to all under my guidance. This year I guide the young people in the exploration of Humanities and Visual Arts. Additionally, I work alongside individuals that may have challenges that significantly impact on their learning.

What’s your favourite thing about your role?
I am privileged to be advisor to a funny, thoughtful and caring group of adolescents and get to work with incredible young adults in the adolescent and senior communities. I enjoy working in a team of dedicated professionals, who share a genuine passion for being excellent at what they do.
